Path/Row Query

Path/Row Tab: At the top of the map, click on the Path/Row Tab to get the query parameters for a search by WRS Path/Row. These query parameters will appear below the map.
Select WRS Type: From the drop-down box that appears below the map, select either WRS-1 (Landsat 1-3) or WRS-2 (Landsat 4-5, 7). All TM and ETM+ holdings use WRS-2 and most MSS holdings use WRS-1. See the USGS page for more information about the Worldwide Reference System.
Enter Parameters: Type in the starting and ending path, starting and ending row for your query and then click on

Entering in the ending path or row is not required if the starting path or row is the same. If you are not satisfied your selection, simply change the parameter values and click on "Update Map" again.

The following examples show searching by path/row using WRS-2 to find Landsat TM data.
To search for a specific path/row, only enter in the starting path and starting row.
Search a range in a specific path/row by leaving one the ending values blank.
Enter in all four values to search by a range of both paths and rows.

After A Selection Has Been Made

Selection List: After a selection has been made, it will appear in the selection list below the query parameters. Each row in the list may have the following buttons described below:
Add Another Button: The row with the current selection will have this button. Click this button to keep this selection and to add in another path/row selection. Additional path/row selections will also be shown in the selection list.
Remove Selection Button: Click on this button to remove the selection. If the current selection is removed, all query parameter values will also be cleared.

Changing the Selection Mode

Contain: By default, the selection mode is set to "Contain" and should be used for most Landsat searches. This will select all images that are contained by a path/row footprint. WRS-2 path/row footprints overlap, so this mode insures that adjacent scenes that touch this footprint are not included in the selection.
Intersect: This mode will select all images that intersect, or touch, the path/row footprint selection. This mode should be used for path/row queries against non-Landsat data, Landsat Mosaics, and to search Landsat data across different WRS grids (e.g., searching WRS-1 data using WRS-2 footprints).
