Downloading ESDI Layers

WARNING: These layers are provided for personal use only. Do not use these layers to create an interface into our database without obtaining permission. Do not use these layers to automate a bulk download (over 50 scenes) without contacting us first. Violations will result in the ban of your IP address or domain.

Layers of our data holdings and ESDI base data are available for download and can be found at:

ftp://ftp.glcf.umd.edu/esdi

The database_export directory contains shapefiles of our ETM, TM, MSS and TM Mosaic holdings. All of these layers are also bundled together in a file named export_all.tar.gz. These are refreshed nightly at 00:15 Eastern Time.

The shapefile directory contains the base layers used by ESDI. All of these layers are also bundled together in a file named shapefile_all.tar.gz

The GTOPO30 image that ESDI uses is also available in the raster directory. This is provided as an 8-bit indexed color and tiled geotiff with multi-resolution overviews.

ArcMap users may want to download the ESDI.mxd.gz file for a simple map that incorporates all of these data. Download the holdings and base layers that you want, place them all in the same directory with ESDI.mxd, and open the map file in ArcMap.
